*Interval International Elite Resort* Featuring a finely appointed 2 bedroom, 3 bath townhouse villa that will accommodate 6 guests comfortably. The best floor unit right next to the pool with bay views. An additional freshwater pool next to the unit as well. Usage is annual in platinum season week 46. Unmotorized amenities are free. BBQ and snorkeling directly from the shore. Maintenance fees are paid every year.
Upstairs, each bedroom has an extremely comfortable king-sized bed, and there is a pull-out sofa on the first floor which sleeps two adults. Our unit is at the end of the building, up on a hill overlooking the bay. In the morning, we eat breakfast on the balcony, and we have the best view of the bay in the entire resort. The unit is located right next to a small pool with barbecues. We usually cook out there, even though we have a full kitchen. And we see spectacular sunsets most nights.
One of the best things about the condo, is that we can park directly next to it, and we can enter the condo with our groceries right on the first floor. Other units on the beach require the residents to park in a lot, and then they must be driven by an electric car up to their place. This makes a big difference when you are bringing in large bags of groceries. The Westin offers great service should you need any extra things such as more towels, blankets, and even umbrellas.
If you want to go down to the main beach, you can call for an electric car to take you there and back. Down the on the beach, there are tennis courts, and a gym, plus a small delicatessen. There is a bigger restaurant right next to the water, and there is a large pool and bar on the beach.
We usually don’t spend much time down on the Westin beach, because we like to explore the other beaches where there is great snorkeling. One of the reasons we decided to buy in St. John was because we didn’t have to go out on a boat to have great snorkeling, as you can snorkel right from the beach. All the beaches have great views as well as large turtles , sting rays, and many other wonderful kinds of fish.
There are several grocery stores nearby, and one is even within walking distance. We usually take our lunch and spend the entire day at the beach. There is a small hut in our section which contains beach chairs left by other residents, so we usually don’t have to bring or buy beach chairs.
The Westin has its own shuttle, and once we give our suitcases to the Westin desk at the airport, we don’t see them again until we enter our condo. When you book the Westin shuttle, you can travel to St. John for shopping for no extra charge. Although St. Thomas has great shopping, there is also very good shopping right on St. John. The resort is only minutes away from the downtown area, where there are many great restaurants and shops.
Our son got married at the Westin, and the catering service was excellent. The night before the wedding we took a moonlight cruise. There are many cruise options to other islands right from the Westin dock. You can rent your own small boat if wish, and you can also use the small sunfishes for free.
