If you are going to list your timeshare for sale with a resale company, do not pay a listing fee to do so. These kinds of companies make their money on the listing fees they collect from unsuspecting timeshare owners when they should be earning their money for selling your timeshare. They usually tell you they have a buyer for your timeshare week and that your timeshare week is worth more than it really is. When you hear this kind of talk, run...don't walk away.
If you are going to list your timeshare for sale with a timeshare resale company, make sure they are licensed in the state where the timeshare resort is located.

Understand that your timeshare is most likely not going to be worth what you originally paid for it. This is because timeshare developers add 50% or more to the original sales price to offset their sales and marketing costs. Once you accept this fact and price your timeshare week accordingly, you should expect to sell it quicker than someone who thinks they can get back what they originally paid. There are of course exceptions to this if you own certain timeshares in certain locations. If you need help determining the value of your timeshare week(s), send us an email and we'll assist you for free.
Don't be discouraged that you won't get back what you paid for your timeshare. If you used your timeshare and enjoyed vacation time with family and friends then the value of those vacation experiences and memories are invaluable. You also would have had to pay to rent comparable vacation accommodations so selling your timeshare for less than you paid is a lot like buying a new car and then selling it for less after you've had years of use and enjoyment from it. Again, certain timeshare properties don't depreciate as much as others so if you need help determining the value of your timeshare week(s), send us an email and we'll assist you for free.
